Why does this matter to me?

Last week’s announcement of the VAT retraction is positive. It highlights an ANC that has been forced to fold in the face of public and political pressure – ever-increasing pressure on a small pool of struggling taxpayers is no way to grow the economy. Globally, there are increasing signals that US President Trump has likewise folded to resistance against his tariff chaos and may well walk back the most destructive of these.
